Today's strip is also a little more...graphic than usual. Sorry about that. I put it down to my mood. I have not had a good few days.
Remember Ziggy? My big beautiful tabby cat with the swollen wrist back in April?
Remember how I was so happy when it turned out to be a minor fracture and not anything more sinister?
Well that's now come back to bite me in the arse with a vengeance.

A few days ago I noticed a new swelling on Ziggy's shoulder on the opposite side to where he had his fracture. He was limping a little and the swelling seemed to have come up pretty much overnight. A trip to the vets revealed that this time is definitely not an innocent sprain or even fracture and the vet suspects it might be a fibrosarcoma tumour. Oh shit.
Today Ziggy was taken in at the local veterinary hospital where he underwent x-rays and had a large sample of the growth taken for biopsy. The good news is that the tumour has not invaded his chest cavity, but we won't know the results of the biopsy for five days.
There is still a possibility that this lump is a benign cyst which while it's already too big to remove, shouldn't cause Ziggy any pain and he can continue to enjoy an excellent quality of life.
But if it isn't, then Mrs Nobody and I have some very tough decisions coming up in the near future.
At the moment, Ziggy is pain free and healthy apart from his Quasimodo-like hump, so we have nothing to do for now but wait. And hope. And try to find the money again for the large and unexpected vets' bills that have suddenly landed in our laps. Again
