You know, I’ve really made a rod for my own back here with these damn zebras. I’ve always hated drawing horses and horse-like animals and always found it quite hard work. The way their legs bend and the strange way that hooves are designed makes them a real challenge for me. Why didn’t I pick something easier to draw to be Lovecraft’s nemesis? Snakes perhaps, or snails or maybe even something that actually lives in the sea and makes more sense than bloody miniature zebras!
The zebras were not planned. They were a complete accident, a chance ‘overhearing’ of someone describing the sound made by a creature in a game as “like an octopus opening a can of zebras” sparked my imagination and lead me to draw this for Biro-art long before Lovecraft or even Odd-Fish were even conceived.
Much much later I was trying to think of a strip for Odd-Fish and remembered my drawing and in a moment of madness decided to write it into the ‘mythos’ indelibly committing myself to having to draw zebras on a regular basis. So you see, it’s my own damn fault!

I’m sorry that this update is almost a day and a half late. I’ve been unwell with I don’t know what but it’s made me feel like absolute crap for the last week and I really didn’t feel like sitting down to draw for several hours followed by another couple sat at my computer putting the thing together.
Feeling a tad better today though so I’ve been able to catch up with Odd-Fish but whatever it was that I had has now passed to MrsNobody. I’m not the most popular person with her at the moment!
