Ghosts XIII 24th February 2010Click here to read this sequence from the start. So onward we go with part thirteen of Odd-Fish: Ghosts. I'm very sorry that it's been over a month since the last episode. The delay on updating Odd-Fish has been because over the last few weeks a lot has happened to Mrs Nobody and I. We moved house! We'd had enough of living in the middle of the urban jungle with people crowded around us and the constant noise of traffic. Where the wild animals wear hoodies and the only green you're likely to see is splattered on the pavement outside a kebab shop on a Saturday night. So we've upped sticks and moved into the countyside where the sounds are of birds, the animals are less likely to steal your mobile phone and the green is on trees. The move went smoothly with the main bulk of it done in a day in the back of a transit van and now we're settling in. We didn't have internet access for two whole weeks because British Telecom did their usual incompetent dance that happens every time you change anything in your account. Eventually though we got back up and running online, although at a much reduced rate now that we're 6km from the exchange instead of 600m! So over then next week or so, Odd-Fish will gradually get back to normal. I'll finally finish the current long form story and get back to puns and cheap gags. I estimate that there are maybe three to five more updates to finish the story. We went for another ultrasound scan last week to check everything's OK with the pregnancy and were delighted to be able to find out the gender of the baby. It looks like we're going to have a son! Now we've just got to come up with a name that:
We both like
Hasn't already been used by another member of either of our families
Doesn't make it sound like we've named him after a character from a movie or TV show
Doesn't sound daft with my unusual surname
Doesn't make a unfortunate word or acronym when added to the surname
Isn't too common (we like Jack but the entire planet appears to be naming their kids Jack at the moment)
Isn't too unusual either
Phew!If you look down there below the comments you'll see I've added a thingie that shows how far along the pregnancy is. There's also a link to our Amazon Wishlist if you fancy getting us something for the baby. Anything is much appreciated and a big help.
