Newsflash 20th November 2008Just when you thought the puns couldn't get any worse, along comes this doozy. I mean really does it get more painful than this? Regular readers will know that I like to name my characters with obscure references that allude to what creatures they are such as Steinway the tuna, Stan the shark and Hesper the mudskipper. The first person (challenge now closed) who sends me using the contact form the correct reasons behind the names Vinnie Sponge and Tammy Jelly will win a pair of Odd-Fish button badges, one featuring Lovecraft & Mr Potatohead and one with the queen zebra. Remember, only guesses sent via the contact form can win and you have to get both names right!Update! We have a winner! Odd-Fish reader Neffa was the first to correctly guess that Vinnie is named after Vinnie Dombroski, a founder member of obscure American grunge band 'Sponge' and Tammie is so named because 'Tammies' is a street name for the drug Tamazapam which also bears the street name 'Jellies.' Apt I thought, for a criminal's name. A pair of Odd-Fish button badges will be winging Neffa's way very soon. One last thing, I have to apologise for the irregularity of updates to Odd-Fish recently. It's because my 'day job' and preparation for the UK Webcomics Thing in March are taking up just about all the time that I'm not eating or sleeping. I just don't seem to get any spare time at all these days. Sorry about that. I hope things will get back to normal soon.
