I hope it’s obvious that the octopus doing most of the talking is not Lovecraft. Her name is Madame Poulp and I tried to make her look like a different species with protruding eyes and rings instead of spots.
I hope it’s also obvious by the clues in the script that Madame Poulp’s dialogue is supposed to have a ‘comedy’ heavy French accent.
If you have no idea what’s going on and why Lovecraft should be so terrified of zebras it might be a good idea to head to the archives starting with this strip here then this one here and then this whole storyline starting here.
Update: I decided to change Poulp’s gender on the suggestion of a reader who commented below. She’s right, Madame Poulp should be La Femme.

I love the Lovecraft-shaped hole in the wall!

Brilliant!
Where’s all the octopus lingerie?
Wow, he got out of there in a hurry.
Wouldn’t octopus knickers have 9 holes, one for each leg/arm/whatever funniest at the time and one for the beak.
Octopus lingerie would be really weird.
I read the other octopus voice as female…hmmm
really happy to see you back; happened to fire up an older computer that still had your bookmark active. Hope to see more and often. Moving Lovecraft from the “dead comix” file immediately
¿Is he afraid of Zebras? XD
